The GOOD Sugar Cookies

The GOOD Sugar Cookies
So, you know when you get a sugar cookie and you either get the good ones or the not so good ones? Well, these are the GOOD ones. They are absolutely delicious and are my personal favorite sugar cookie recipe out there. They are also perfect for holidays since you can cut them out to any shape and ice them with any colored icing. Not store-bought icing though, that is not ok, if you really need the worlds easiest icing, then choose this one.
Ingredients 350°F (175°C)
- 2 1/3 cup flour
- 1 1/2 stick of butter
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking powder

- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg.
- Combine the flour mixture with the wet ingredients.
- Chill the dough for about 2 hours.
- Roll out the cookie dough about 1/4 of an inch thick. If the dough is to sticky, you may want to add a little more flour or chill it a little more first.
- Now the best part! Cut the cookie dough into whatever shape you like! Although make sure you use shapes similar in size on the same baking pan.
- Re-roll the dough until you’ve used it all. (Sometimes if you re-roll the dough multiple times, it may get a little sticky, so you might want to add a little flour or chill it a little extra but be careful to not over add flour.)
- Bake them at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to slightly brown
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to cool completely
- Enjoy! If you want you can ice them with the Classic Royal Icing, or any other frosting/icing of your choice!
