Do you still buy store-bought icing from the store? Well, you need to stop. Store-bought icing is full of modified ingredients, artificial flavors and all sorts of unhealthiness. You may be thinking, ”but store-bought icing is so easy”. Well, so is this. In fact, this is literally the worlds easiest icing. You only have to mix 2 ingredients (3 if you add food dye) in a bowl. No heating things up or freezing utensils. The result is a delicious, sweet icing that goes great on top of cookies.
Ingredients
2 tbsp powdered sugar (packed)
Water
Optional: food dye
Let’s get started!
Measure 2 packed tablespoons of powdered sugar in a bowl. (You can of course make more, double and half this recipe as much as you want.)
Add a 1/4 of a teaspoon of water at a time. I used 3/4 (and a little extra, about 1/8 tsp extra) for 2 packed tablespoons.
Mix together and add more water until desired consistency. if you add to much water, you can always add a little more powdered sugar.
Optional: add food dye and mix.
Done! you can use this to frost those cookies or add a drizzle to your scones.

Measure and pack 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar in a bowl. (You can of course make more, double and half this recipe as much as you want.)
Add a 1/4 of a teaspoon of water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency. (I used 3/4 of a teaspoon of water plus a little extra, about 1/8 of teaspoon extra)
Mix the powdered sugar and water together and continue to add more water until you are happy with the consistency. (Btw, sorry that my nail polish is chipped, I really didn’t notice that)
Keep mixing until you’ve achieved your desired consistency, if you accidently add to much water, that is ok, you can just add some more powdered sugar.
Done! You can use this frosting to decorate those cookies, or you can drizzle it on top of your scones. You can also dye the frosting in any color of your choice.
